Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man with Van Shoreditch is committed to conducting business in a responsible and ethical manner. We recognise that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation are severe violations of fundamental human rights. This statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear and robust zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to every aspect of our business, including our direct operations, subcontracted services, and wider supply chain. We do not tolerate any practice that exploits individuals, restricts their freedom, or denies them fair working conditions and pay.
All staff, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this policy. Any breach is considered a serious matter that may result in termination of employment or commercial relationships, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Shoreditch provides transport, removal, and related services. Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, facilities services, technology providers, and a limited number of subcontracted transport partners.
We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise within logistics, subcontracted labour, and lower-skilled workforces. We therefore focus our prevention efforts on these areas and expect all partners to demonstrate ethical labour practices and compliance with applicable employment and human rights laws.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We require suppliers and subcontractors to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they comply with minimum wage, working hours, and health and safety legislation. Our onboarding process includes an assessment of suppliers' labour practices, where we seek assurances regarding their own supply chains.
Contracts and service agreements may include clauses requiring adherence to anti-slavery and human trafficking laws. Where appropriate, we request information on policies, procedures, and training related to modern slavery prevention, with an expectation of continuous improvement over time.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We undertake proportionate supplier audits and ongoing monitoring to validate compliance with our standards. These activities may include documented questionnaires, requests for supporting evidence, and in some cases on-site visits or remote reviews. Priority is given to higher-risk categories such as subcontracted labour and logistics services.
Where audits reveal areas of concern, we seek corrective actions within clear timeframes. Failure to address identified issues may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship. We are committed to working collaboratively with suppliers who demonstrate a genuine willingness to improve.
Training and Awareness
We provide guidance to relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, operations, and supplier management, to help them recognise signs of modern slavery and understand our reporting processes. We strive to build awareness of ethical sourcing and the importance of vigilance within everyday decision-making.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or through our established whistleblowing routes.
Reports can be made confidentially and will be treated seriously, promptly, and sensitively. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Where necessary, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires regular review and improvement. We are committed to evaluating our policies, due diligence procedures, and training on an annual basis, taking into account legislative developments, industry guidance, and lessons learned from our own activities.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months and updated as needed to reflect our current approach and priorities. It is approved by the leadership of Man with Van Shoreditch and communicated to employees and key suppliers to reinforce our shared responsibility to prevent modern slavery.
