These Terms and Conditions apply to all removal, collection, delivery and associated services provided by Man with Van Shoreditch. By booking our services, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not proceed with a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

Customer means the individual, company or organisation booking services.

We, us, our means Man with Van Shoreditch as the provider of removal and transport services.

Services means any man and van, home or office removal, collection, delivery, loading, unloading, packing, or related work carried out by us.

Goods means any items, belongings, furniture, equipment or materials that we move, transport or handle as part of the services.

Service area means the geographic locations where we offer removal and man and van services, including Shoreditch and surrounding areas.

2. Scope of Services

We provide man and van services, home removals, office moves, small and large item transport, local deliveries and collections within our service area. Availability of services may vary depending on vehicle capacity, access, booking demand and the nature of the goods to be moved.

The precise scope of each job, including the collection and delivery addresses, number of operatives, type of vehicle, estimated time and specific requirements, will be agreed with you at the time of booking. Any changes to the agreed scope may affect the price and timing of the services.

3. Booking Process

All bookings for Man with Van Shoreditch services must be confirmed by us before they are accepted. You may request a quote by providing accurate and complete information about your move, including addresses, access details, inventory of items, dates and times required.

Once we have the required information, we will provide you with an estimate or fixed price. This quotation is based on the information you supply. If that information is inaccurate or incomplete, we reserve the right to amend the price or cancel the booking.

A booking is considered confirmed only when we have expressly accepted it and you have accepted our quotation and any applicable terms of payment. We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion.

You are responsible for ensuring that all details you provide are correct, including property access, parking arrangements, the nature of goods to be moved and the time required. Any failure to disclose relevant details may result in additional charges, delays or cancellation of the service.

4. Pricing and Estimates

Prices for our services may be provided as an hourly rate, a fixed price or a combination of both. All pricing structures will be clearly explained to you at the time of booking.

Where we provide an estimate based on the information given, this is not a guarantee that the final charge will be the same. The final amount may change if:

There are additional items not originally declared.

There are unexpected access issues, such as stairs, narrow doorways, long walking distances or parking restrictions.

The job takes longer than anticipated due to circumstances outside our control.

Special handling is required for fragile, heavy or awkward items.

Any applicable congestion or parking charges, tolls or similar fees are incurred.

We will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if it becomes clear that the price will need to be adjusted and explain the reasons.

5. Payments

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on completion of the service on the day of the move. We may require a deposit to secure your booking, particularly for larger removals or peak times. Any required deposit will be explained at the time of booking.

We accept various forms of payment as agreed with you in advance. You are responsible for ensuring that payment is made in full and on time. If your payment method is declined or not honoured, you remain fully liable for all charges.

For hourly rate bookings, charges will commence from the agreed arrival time or the actual arrival time of our vehicle and staff, whichever is later, and will continue until completion of the job, subject to any minimum booking period explained during the booking process.

Interest may be charged on late payments at a reasonable commercial rate from the date payment became due until payment is received in full. We reserve the right to pursue unpaid amounts through appropriate legal means.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

You may cancel or amend your booking, subject to the following conditions.

If you cancel more than a reasonable period before the scheduled start time, any deposit paid may be refundable at our discretion.

If you cancel with short notice, we may retain part or all of any deposit or charge a cancellation fee to cover our costs and loss of business.

If you wish to change the date, time or scope of the service, you must inform us as early as possible. We will attempt to accommodate changes, but cannot guarantee availability or that the original price will remain unchanged.

We may cancel or reschedule your booking in the event of circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to severe weather, vehicle breakdown, staff illness, accidents, road closures or safety concerns. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, offer an alternative date or a refund of any deposit paid, but we will not be liable for any consequential loss.

7. Access, Parking and Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that adequate access and parking are available at both the collection and delivery addresses. This includes arranging any necessary parking permits or permissions and informing us of any restrictions such as height limits, loading bays, narrow roads or time-limited bays.

Any fines, penalties or additional charges incurred due to inadequate parking, incorrect information or failure to arrange suitable access may be added to your bill.

You are responsible for packing and securing your goods unless you have specifically booked a packing service. All fragile and valuable items should be appropriately protected. We accept no liability for damage arising from poor or inadequate packing carried out by you or a third party.

You must ensure that all items to be moved are ready and that the property is accessible at the agreed time. Delays caused by you, including waiting times for access, unfinished packing or inability to load, may result in additional charges.

8. Excluded and Restricted Items

We do not transport hazardous, illegal or unsafe items. This includes, but is not limited to, explosives, flammable liquids, gas cylinders, chemicals, firearms, drugs, biohazards and any goods that are prohibited under applicable law.

We also reserve the right to refuse heavy, bulky or delicate items that, in our reasonable opinion, cannot be moved safely or within the limits of our vehicles and equipment. You must inform us in advance of any unusually heavy, valuable or fragile goods so that we can confirm whether we can safely handle them.

9. Waste Regulations and Rubbish Removal

Man with Van Shoreditch operates in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations. We are not a general waste disposal service and will not remove household refuse, construction waste or hazardous materials unless this has been expressly agreed in advance and is compliant with relevant regulations.

You must not request us to dispose of items unlawfully. Fly-tipping or illegal dumping is strictly prohibited. Any request to dispose of goods must be discussed with us beforehand so that lawful and appropriate arrangements can be made, which may incur additional charges.

We reserve the right to refuse removal or disposal of any items if we believe it would breach waste regulations, pose an environmental risk or be unsafe for our staff or the public.

10. Liability for Loss and Damage

We will take reasonable care in handling and transporting your goods. However, our liability for loss or damage is limited as set out in this section.

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from:

Inadequate or improper packing by you or a third party.

Items that were already damaged or defective before we handled them.

Normal wear and tear, minor scratches or scuffs that are reasonably expected during moving.

Loss of or damage to items of high value, such as cash, jewellery, watches, artwork, antiques, important documents or electronic data, unless we have agreed in writing to handle such items and you have declared their value.

Damage resulting from your failure to secure or prepare items properly, such as dismantling furniture where required.

We are not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to accidents on the road, severe weather or third-party actions.

Our liability for any proven loss or damage arising directly from our negligence will, in any event, be limited to a reasonable amount in proportion to the service fee paid for the job and the value of the affected items. You are encouraged to obtain your own insurance cover for your goods in transit.

11. Claims and Complaints

If you believe that your goods have been lost or damaged, or if you have any complaint about our services, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible, preferably on the day of the move or within a short time afterwards.

You should provide clear details of the issue, including a description of any damage and supporting evidence where available. We will investigate your claim and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Failure to notify us within a reasonable period may prejudice our ability to investigate and could limit or invalidate any potential claim.

12. Insurance

We may maintain appropriate cover in relation to the operation of our vehicles and general business activities. However, our cover may not extend to the full replacement value of your goods.

You are strongly advised to arrange your own insurance for goods in transit and for any particularly valuable or fragile items. It is your responsibility to ensure that any insurance policy obtained is adequate for your needs.

13. Health and Safety

We are committed to providing services safely and in compliance with health and safety requirements. Our staff may refuse to carry out any task that they reasonably consider to be unsafe, likely to cause injury or likely to damage property or goods.

You must ensure a safe working environment at the collection and delivery locations. This includes clear access routes, suitable lighting and safe conditions for lifting and moving items. We may suspend or terminate services if working conditions are unsafe.

14. Data Protection and Privacy

We may collect and process personal information from you for the purposes of providing our services, managing bookings, processing payments and handling enquiries.

We will only use your personal information in a lawful manner and for legitimate business purposes. We take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this clause and any applicable data protection laws.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services provided shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the services.

16. Amendments to These Terms

We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or business practices. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.

It is your responsibility to review the Terms and Conditions prior to confirming a booking. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be severed from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Man with Van Shoreditch in relation to the services provided. They supersede any prior understandings, statements or agreements, whether oral or written, relating to the subject matter.

No amendment or variation of these Terms and Conditions shall be effective unless it is agreed in writing by us.
